Billy Brennan’s Barn – A Celebration of all things Irish
Hibernacle are thrilled to announce a celebration of Irish music and all things Irish in the stunning setting of Orlagh House this March 15th. Just 5 minutes from the M50, a short taxi ride from the city centre, head to the Dublin mountains this St. Patrickโs weekend and avoid the hustle and bustle of town.
Orlagh House is a unique and historic location, the magic of the venue is palpable. The music will be strong and soft and wild, as only Irish music can be! Join us for a day of pints, craic, ceol agus seisรบin. There will be music throughout the house, from 6pm until late.
There will be a bespoke menu of some perfect Irish food for the knee to sit alongside your Tayto or King crisps and your pint.
There will be a full bar (real glasses!), a magic and stunning setting looking out over the city of Dublin and honestly, we don’t know where this musical journey will end up with a mix like this on board, along with God knows who might show up!
Why not leave the car behind and get lifts or taxis? There are really limited parking spaces that you MUST book in advance through Eventbrite for โฌ20. Taxis to Orlagh are generally around โฌ25-โฌ30 from the city centre. There are also buses to nearby Knocklyon or Rathfarnham, where you can easily hop a cab up to Orlagh House.
Don’t be a silly billy, this one is NOT worth missing out on!
Any questions, fears, notions, just ask us at [email protected] and we can help with all of these things!

George Murphy and The Rising Sons
We could not be more excited and privileged to have George and The Sons aboard our ship for this show. The guys have sold out Vicar Street several times, have played up and down the country and across the sea, selling out rooms wherever may be lucky enough to have welcomed them.
Comprising of a blend of fiddles, whistles, banjos, bass, percussion, this will be the sing song to end all sing songs with ballads and folks tunes and trad music from such a genuine source, that we can’t believe our luck that these guys will be leading the session for us this weekend.
Grรกinne Hunt
Grรกinne has long been one of our favourite Irish voices. Not only does she have the most beautiful voice and writes the most incredible songs, but she is an old stalwart of the Hibernacle/Turning Pirate shows and puts a powerful footprint on any event we have seen her be a part of. To be listening to Grรกinne Hunt sing and play in any space is a treat. To be seeing her sing in Orlagh House alongside this line up with the weekend that is in it, well we wouldn’t be anywhere else in the world.
Buรญoch
Buรญoch (the Irish word for ‘thankful’) are a trad band from the midlands of Ireland that have been blowing audiences away all over the festival circuit and the gig circuit both home and abroad since their formation around lock down (shudder…) time.
We feel very honoured to have Buรญoch join the Hibernacle circus on what is no doubt the busiest weekend of the year for them. Let’s get the dancing going and the pints flowing…
Mike Hanrahan (Stockton’s Wing)
Mike is not only one of the foremost players in the Irish trad music scene, he is also one of our favourite humans. His song ‘Beautiful Affair’ is an Irish anthem, having led Stockton’s Wing, led the trad sessions and collaborations on the Late Late show and joined Pat Shortt on a run around Ireland uncovering/remembering/unleashing Irish songs onto our tellies on RTE last year, we’re so excited to have Mike on board this musical mayhem. We couldn’t think of a better man to be in the mix with this line up.
