Join us for this festive, online cooking class! CAA’s Tamuno Imbu will show you how to veganize your holiday favorite – Shepard’s Pie.
This rich, protein packed dish features a flavor profile that will set off the hearty filling with herbs and a fluffy potato topping. We can save our leftovers, or prepare the filling a day ahead to save your time for your next holiday festivities.
In this 1 hour class, you’ll be introduced to this dish that is fairly easy to make, from ingredients that are easy to find in your local grocery store.

Class registration is $5.00 or free for students and people who are unemployed. The class will take place via Zoom and login instructions will be provided after registration.
You’ll need to pre-purchase these ingredients to cook along with us from your home kitchen:
Topping
1.5 lbs Yukon gold potatoes
2 tablespoons vegan butter
2 cloves garlic, finely minced
4 oz vegan cream cheese
1/2 cup almond milk
salt & pepper
Filling
1 tablespoon your favorite cooking oil
3 cloves garlic, minced
1 cup yellow onion, diced
1 rib celery, finely chopped
1 (15 oz.) can of cooked brown lentils, drained and rinsed
8 oz baby Bella mushrooms, finely chopped
2 tablespoons fresh parsley
1 tablespoon fresh rosemary
1 tablespoon fresh thyme
2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
2 tablespoons tomato paste
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon pepper
2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
10 oz frozen veggie mix (peas, carrots green beans, corn)
3/4 cup vegetable broth
